Four Step Design Process
These are the four D’s of the design process:
- Discover
- Design
- Develop
- Deploy
Each step is an important part of graphic and web design. These steps help the designer focus in on the client’s needs and pain points.
I would really appreciate the opportunity to create a unique design, using the four D's, that will enhance your website or print publication. I would like your design to be a pleasure to look at, but will also help your viewers understand what message you are trying to convey.
I believe that graphic design and illustration can help guide your audience towards making positive and informed decisions as to the direction you would like them to take.
Elliptic Systems Newsletter
Using Adobe Illustrator CC, I designed this issue of the Elliptic Systems monthly printed newsletter. The cartoon is my original design. I also wrote the copy for the Tips and Tricks feature and the opening Virtualization statement.
Emerald City Comicon Poster
Using Adobe Illustrator CC I designed this comicon poster. The poster is based on the actual event and is being submitted for a future comicon.
Carleton Farms Pumpkin Run
This design started as a rough sketch with art assets from the client. I used the four-step design process to create this final piece. The design was used on t-shirts and other printed promotional products.
Ethical Enterprises Brand Design
Ethical Enterprises needed their existing logo updated. They were using a simplified line drawing of an eagle and asked me to create a more detailed but stylized eagle. This is the result that they were very happy with.
Business Identity
This logo was done for Mary Davidson a massage therapist in Bellevue, WA. The logo was produced in Adobe Illustrator.
Fin Back Gear
I did this design by hand and then I scanned it into Photoshop. I touched it up in Photoshop and framed it in Illustrator. This is for a sportswear line.
Product Label
The Project: Design a label for a new preserves flavor. This project combined the use of Photography, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Bison Sun
This design was part of a 21 piece emboidery and screen print logo design promotion for a tourist retail catalog. Adobe Illustrator was used to create the design.
Coyote Moon
I did this design for a tourist retail catalog. The design was embroidered on various garments. The design was done in Adobe Illustrator.

Speed
This piece was done in Adobe Illustrator. This is a part of a postcard series I'm developing. I begin with a concept sketch and then I scan in the sketch and draw over it in Illustrator. As I work on the final piece I occasionally change the original images in the concept piece. 
Wild
This piece was done in Adobe Illustrator. This is a part of a postcard series I'm developing. All of the postcard series start out with a conceptual sketch. Each one is then completed electronically. I like to use Adobe Illustrator because I feel I can achieve a graphic look and feel with a vector based program.
